December where did you go

December has flown past so quick, it seems as soon as I picked up my knitting gifts, turned round and they were wrapped and delivered. I love Christmas knitting but this year seems so have flown by so fast, I have not had the chance to really play with the colours and design more.

Here is a few of the Christmas knits I did. I hope everyone managed to get all their knitting done.

Love a bit of bright colour

The great thing about Christmas is the sparkle and all that red , white, green and gold. What more can you want in some bright knitting.
Here is a pair of mittens I did to start my  Christmas knits off.

Mittens or gloves

As the colder weather arrives here in the UK its time to keep them hands warm. What do you prefer to wear Mittens or Gloves?
Here is a new Mitten pattern I have just finished and is very popular already.

Then you have the fingerless glove style which I love for driving

Then you have finger gloves that turn into mittens Watch this space for the pattern release coming soon.

And then of course you have the glove with all fingers covered.

Loving a little pattern on a mitten, then these could just be what your looking for, easy pattern to follow and fun to do.

Bit of fun knits for Halloween

It may be one night a year, but the build up is always so much fun. What better way to keep warm than with a spooky hat.

And for the little ones to join in, they can always have their own little beanie hat.

 

Starting the Winter knits

That time of year again to put away the pastel colours and get knitting the winter warm shades.
Not that I will ever truly put away my baby colours, I just love them too much. Pastel lemon on the go at the moment for a Christmas baby, but of course I will add a few winter pieces as well.

The first of my Winter warmers is this little jacket, It has had some lovely comments already, and one lady has knitted it already in Grey ad blue.




Finished these lovely mittens over the weekend.
So love the deep purple colour.

Knitting a Favourite pattern.

Do you have a favourite pattern? I used to have a couple that came out every time a little one was on the way, now I am getting spoilt for choice and have many.
Here is my latest one done, plus a couple I have done over the past month or two.

Did this in a Paintbox DK yarn, very soft and nice to knit.


 This is so quick to knit and looks so cosy. Knitted in Blue the first time and then a lemon.



This one was requested by a friends daughter, she did not want a girly pink colour.

August already How time flies.

August already, I do not know what happened to my Christmas in July knits !! Time just flew by.

Had some fun the last few days sorting out these little beauties. Back to knitting this afternoon.

Little Boy Blue

I love how the Blue looks in the Circle of Love pattern, I just need to decide on buttons. It is so good to design patterns fit for a Prince or Princess.

Paintbox yarn so soft

I started this cardigan to do in between some decorating and housework, oh my goodness the Paintbox yarn I have chosen is so soft and nice to work with I am struggling to put it down.

I managed to bag a bargain with some sale colours in the.loveknitting.com/knitting sale. I think I will be popping back for more before the sale ends. What is on your needles in this sunny weather?

Cute little cardigan

I was going to wait to post this cute cardigan, as I am in the middle of knitting it again in a gorgeous kingfisher blue, but it is so lovely I wanted to share.

July Already

Well what better way to start this months posts with a special wish for all our American friends. Happy 4th July to you all, I hope you have a great day with all your family and friends.

Beanie for a Prince

After knitting the bonnet for a Princess I thought it only fair to do a Hat for your little Prince. So here you go I just love the denim blue, a feel a complete set being made soon.

Using up some old favourites

Knitted up some really old stash yarn, loved it years ago and still do now. I have even book marked it for a beautiful baby girl.

The pattern will be coming out very soon, watch this space.

Here we are the pattern has now been published, I hope it becomes a favourite like so many have for me.

Bonnet for a princess

Finished this little cutie and gave to a dear friend for her new arrival later in the year. I am hoping to do a nice matching cardigan for her, if time allows.

Frogging weekend

Well what can I say, after a busy weekend frogging back my beautiful sparkle mint cardigan (watch this space it will get finished 😊) I thought put it done, breath and start again on Monday. Yes I know the dreaded Monday but it had to be done.
So instead I did a second Lily's eyelet cardigan and the smiley buttons made it a sunny weekend.

More mint sparkle for May

Worked on this lovely new pattern over the Bank Holiday here in the UK. It is knitting up so nice I think I will be knitting myself a nice top for a treat.

Update to say I played yarn chicken with this design and lost, oops. Not to worry it is working out to be a beautiful short sleeve cardigan. Picture coming soon.

Bit of Mint sparkle for summer

Loved working with this sparkle yarn, it knitted up so nice. I must admit I am a fan of James c, Brett yarn, it seems to wash well for little ones. This colour was the mint shimmer.

Summer is on its way.

Sunny lemon looks so springtime.

The Fluffy hat I did last week in a lovely lemon spring colour. It is surprising how different the same pattern can look in different yarns don't you think?

A nice little treat for an Easter Baby

I love the fluffy yarn on this sweet little baby hat, really fun knit for an Easter baby to wear.

             

Then you can always change the fluffy yarn to a plain yarn in any colour to wear all year round.

Little cardigan finished to match the baby hat

I really enjoyed knitting this little one, so much so I did a second one in shades of coral for a special little girl. Very pleased to say she loved it so much she did not want to take it off.

Bergere yarn stash busted

Managed to use up some Bergere yarn over the weekend, knitted up lovely and soft.

Pattern worked out well and the buttons finished it off lovely.

March in on with the Stash Busting

Well what can I say February flew past so quick.
I have to say I did so well and managed to work from my stash yarn and not buy a single skein, total amount knitted was an impressive 650grms. I am very pleased with that and I aim to double this for March.
With spring around the corner this will be easy to do I hope.

Here is the first of this months effort, the pattern was released on the first and is proving popular, which is nice. Cardigan to follow soon.

Second ball of yarn used

Being as it is Valentines Day tomorrow I thought I would keep the theme with this snuggly little heart cardigan. Second ball of yarn used and so far resisted buying any more.

February is use my stash month

So many nice yarns lurking in the cupboard, I decided it was time to start knitting my stash instead of buying more. This was motivated by a lovely lady Sandra who is having a challenge to get through stash yarns.
Here is my first ball used up.

Last pair of mittens this year

Well mitten month is over and I just had to do a final pair.

Little twisted cuffs are a quick knit with a nice detail centre.

Can't decide fingerless gloves

The name of these fun gloves came about as no one could decide if they were better in a dark or light colour. They were going to be called dark and light but can't decide was more fun.
They are really easy to make and if you wanted you could always add a top to make them full gloves or mittens.

A great quick knit for the cold weather we are having

Mitten month it is then.

What a busy week it has been, needed to get some mittens done for a friends little ones (who had lost theirs) school colours so not very fun knits.
Then I did a pair for a friend across the pond and she tells me January is mitten month.

   Join in the fun and make these easy twist cuff mittens.  Quick to do for the cold snap we have.
                                  

Welcome to 2017

Well what can we say about 2016, not the best of years for many, and some good times for others.
Here is wishing you all a happy healthy 2017.
